“The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from the past, “X-Men: First Class,” in order to change a major historical event and fight in an epic battle that could save our future.” (c) Fox
I have been so excited to see X-Men: Days Of Future Past. I am a huge fan of the X-Men franchise. I have seen all of the cartoons. I am an X-Men nerd. I am happy to say that I LOVED X-Men: Days Of Future Past.
I really liked that this movie combined the X-Men characters from the first films with the newer characters from X-Men: First Class. I was worried about the storyline being confusing with the filmmakers combining both ‘timelines’ but it made sense. The storyline was easy to follow. Although the storyline can be tense, there are also a lot of comedic moments.
The acting in this film was great. I am a big fan of James McAvoy who plays the younger Charles Xavier. He was great in this film exploring the darker times of Professor Xavier. At one point, James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart are on the screen at the same time communicating with each other. I nerded out seeing both of them together on the screen. It was great. Hugh Jackman was great as Wolverine as usual. He has played this character so much now that he has to be very comfortable in Wolverine’s shoes. Jennifer Lawrence had some great action scenes as Mystique. She really did a great job playing this complicated character. Overall, I don’t really thing that anyone’s performance really stood out from all the others. This movie was an ensemble piece.
This movie has a lot of great action but it is violent and there are a lot of deaths. There is also some sexual material and nudity in this movie (a rear end). This movie deserves its PG-13 rating. When I saw this film, I viewed it in 3D. I did not really think that viewing the movie in 3D really added a lot to the film. I do not feel that this movie is necessary to watch in 3D.
I absolutely loved X-Men: Days Of Future Past. I will be telling my family and friends to go and see it. I will definitely be seeing it again and I will be purchasing when it comes out on Bluray. If you like the X-Men movies or just want to see a really great movie, this is one not to be missed!
