“A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus-the demigod son of Zeus-is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’ godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramírez), switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans’ strength grows stronger as Zeus’ remaining godly powers are siphoned…and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon’s demigod son Agenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the Underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.”
I really like movies about Greek Mythology. I really enjoyed the first movie in this series, Clash of the Titans. I was pretty excited to see the sequel to the first film.
I liked Wrath of the Titans more than the first movie. I thought this movie had a lot more action than the first film. For me, sometimes the first one was sort of slow and boring. This movie is non-stop action.
The 3D effects in this film were a HUGE improvement compared to the first movie. There were some pretty cool 3D effects used in this movie. During many of the fighting sequences, you felt like you were part of the action.
Wrath of the Titans had a lot more humor than its predecessor. I do not remember laughing at all during the first movie. The humorous moments in Wrath of the Titans really helped to ‘break up’ the seriousness of the movie. By far, some of the best moments were when Hephaestus (played by Bill Nighy) was on the screen. His character had some of the best lines. His character is sort of crazy.
I like that there was more ‘girl power’ in this movie. Andromeda (played by Rosamund Pike) is no longer a ‘damsel in distress’ in this film. She is a great fighter and a leader of the Greek army. I liked that she was a strong women in this film.
I really enjoyed Wrath of the Titans. It is a great action movie and would be fun to go see as a date night.
