I attended an advanced screening of this film. All opinions are my own.
“Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.” -©Warner Bros.
I have been so excited to see WONDER WOMAN. The trailers have made it look amazing. Going in to watch the film, I was hoping I would not end up being disappointed. WONDER WOMAN ended up being a fantastic movie, probably the best that has been done in the DC movie universe in a while.
This movie works because of the great acting performances in the movie. Gal Gadot is wonderful as Wonder Woman. She was charming and definitely captured the right mixture of innocence, humor, and bravery. Chris Pine was great as the leading male role, American spy Steve Trevor. These two together had fantastic chemistry and were believable as a couple.
I thought that the storyline of the film was very engrossing. The movie flowed well and was compelling. It had the right mix of drama, action, and humor. This movie was funnier than I thought it was going to be.
The action sequences were top notch with great stunts and effects. I loved seeing so many stunts done by women. This movie is definitely a girl power movie.
This movie is rated PG-13 “for sequences of violence and action, and some suggestive material.” This movie deserves its rating. Although it is not as dark in tone as some of the other DC comic movies, I think that this movie is more for teens and adults. Parents should see it first and decide if it is appropriate for their younger children.
I loved WONDER WOMAN and can definitely recommend it! It is a great movie!
