I know I have mentioned it before but I love to read! Cara Crisostomo who is a consultant for Usborne Books sent us some books to read and we love them! What I loved about working with Cara is that she actually sent me books that were so age appropriate. She knew the exact books to send for my 2 girls! Cara’s daughter even picked out a Body Book just for Leah and Leah loves it!
We started reading to both girls when they were infants and it has continued. Often throughout the day Charlotte will bring me a book to read and Leah is really starting to grasp reading.
Now that Leah is learning to read I have really been trying to get books that she and I can enjoy together. Leah loves to be read to and is starting to enjoy reading on her own. We recently started one of the books that Cara from Usborne sent us called Oliver Moon and the Nipperbat Nightmare.
I made a deal with Leah that if she read 20 mins everyday on her own we would read fun chapters books like this together! “Hooray! I love when a children’s book can really change their thinking and their life! I am a huge advocate for reading to my kids when they are young. I want them to not only have a love for books but to see kids who are just like them as characters in these books.
Charlotte really loves the Lift the Flap Colors Book. Charlotte knows her colors and we are working on numbers, letters and counting. This book is perfect for her! Each page is filled with different colors to learn as well as counting penguins and other things! We also received some really fun 1001 Things to Spot on the Farm and they have tons of those to choose from like 1001 Pirate, Fairy and more! One of our favorites was the Secrets of the Apple Tree ”
