Music is so powerful for me. I have always been drawn to music and have always loved singing along to it. It moves me and also connects my memories to it. I think it is really cool that hearing a song can take you right back to that time or memory in your life. When I heard the song “Dear Daughter” by Halestorm, a GRAMMY® Award-winning hard rock band, I love how it verbalizes the message I want for my daughter.

This song was inspired by Halestorm lead singer Lzzy Hale’s parents and how they always encouraged her to follow her dreams. She said, “If it wasn’t for my parents’ support we would have never started the band as early as we did. And we probably wouldn’t have gotten to this point.”
I have two daughters, a four year old, and a 5 month old. Being a mom to daughters is such a special thing. I feel so connected to them both and love them with my entire heart. I definitely want them to follow their dreams and most importantly I want them to know how much I love them and that I will always be there for them.
I was really lucky growing up and even now because I always knew that my mom loved and does love me. And that she will always be there for me, no matter what. This is something that truly means the world to me, As a mom I make sure that I continue that legacy and that my kids feel the same way about me once they are grown.
A mothers love is so amazing and I just love that this song is an inspiration and nod to that. With Mother’s Day coming up this weekend this is a great song to share with the mothers and daughters in your life.
