Vaporizers, also known as vapor pens, e-cigarettes and e-cigs require an electrical outlet for use. Since not all of us can travel with a computer or power strip at all times, there are some things that we need to know about portable chargers and batteries in order to ensure that our vaporizer is charged up when we need it most. Can You Bring a Vape on a Plane? So let’s get started to know more!

First off you want to make sure that your laptop isn’t going anywhere without you because if you have a plug in model it might be wise to double check with the airline before starting this guide. So assuming your laptop isn’t leaving your side anytime soon here is what you will need from it. You’re going to need the charger that came with your vaporizer, the charger for your laptop, and an extension cord or power strip.
If you have a battery powered model it is time to bust out your trusty calculator because we are going to do some math. The voltage of the battery (V) multiplied by the current of the battery (I) will result in the wattage of the battery (W). So for example if you have a 3.7 volt battery and a 650 mAh current then your wattage would be 2.45 watts. Now that we know this information we can find out what kind of charger we need. Most phones these days come with a 5 watt charger, so anything over that and you’re good to go. Your vaporizers wattage must not exceed the charger wattage by much or you will need to purchase a step up converter/charger which can be found at any local drug store. So you’ll want to make sure that your vaporizer and laptop chargers both put out no less than 5 watts if they don’t then you’re going to have to find an adapter for them which isn’t too hard at all. Just go down to your local walgreens, target, or best buy and you should be able to find something along those lines there (step up converters are usually under $10).

Next things next; An extension cord or power strip may seem like over kill but it really isn’t at all because it is always good safety measures when traveling to have multiple ways to charge your devices. And last but not least you want to make sure that you have all of the cords that came with your devices so that you don’t have any trouble charging them up.
Now that we have all of that taken care of it is time to put our plan into action! The first thing we are going to do is charge up both of our batteries, the vaporizer and the laptop, so that we can be sure they are both at full power before we leave. Once they are both charged up we will unplug the vaporizer from the laptop and pack it away in our carry on bag. Now if you’re using a battery powered model and have extra battery then you can bring that along with you as well, if not then make sure to bring your charger along with you in case there is an extra in your carry on bag.
Now that we have the vaporizer all packed up it is time to charge up our laptops and phone so that we can use them while on the plane. We will do this by using the extension cord or power strip to plug in all of our devices at once and then we will be good to go!

If everything goes smoothly all the way up until it’s time to land, then we are good to go! All we have left to do now is plug our vaporizer into the laptop and charge it back up so that it is fully charged once we get off of the plane. After a long trip you will probably need a breather before firing up anyways so don’t worry about charging too much or too little.
Just take it easy and enjoy your time away from home!
