I attended an advanced screening of this film. All opinions are my own.
“After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of TOPGUN graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.”
Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.”-©Paramount
I have been so excited to see Top Gun: Maverick. I love Tom Cruise and the original film. The new movie, Top Gun: Maverick doesn’t disappoint. It is probably the best movie I have seen this year.
I really loved the storyline for Top Gun: Maverick. There are several throw backs and references to the original movie. I felt like this movie had a much more developed storyline and plot than the original film.
The flight sequences are very well choreographed and are so exciting. I saw this movie in IMAX. The filmmakers filmed with movie with IMAX cameras. This is the best format to see the movie in. The bigger the screen the better for this film.
I thought the acting was great. Tom Cruise was great as Maverick. I loved all the new additions to the cast, especially Miles Teller as Rooster. The whole cast had great chemistry together.
Top Gun: Maverick is rated PG-13 “for sequences of intense action, and some strong language.” There is some violence, sexual references, and some language (one f-word). If your kids have seen the first Top Gun film, they will be fine seeing this. I would probably recommend this for kids 10 and up.
I loved Top Gun: Maverick and plan on seeing it again. It is a fantastic film and I highly recommend it.
Top Gun: Maverick gets bragging rights!
Top Gun: Maverick is now playing only in theaters. For more information about the film, you can check out the film’s official website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
