I hate the Cold & Flu Season. The dreaded season of sickness. It is no fun being sick and worse having your kids sick (poor little dears). And heaven forbid you and your kids are sick at the same time. That is an awful situation to be in, if you have been there you know. So I try to prevent us getting sick as much as possible. Here are my Tips For Keeping Your Family Cold & Flu Free:
Wash Your Hands– Make sure everyone is washing their hands a lot. This will prevent the spread of germs around your house. Then if one person is sick they are less likely to spread it to everyone else. Especially have everyone wash upon returning home when they have been out about (at the store, school, ect…) that will help in preventing new germs to come home with them.
Keep Your Kids Home– If your child is seeming even a little bit sick DON’T send them to school! You don’t want to spread it around to other families. Plus when your child’s immunity is down you won’t want them around additional germs.
Wipe Down Surfaces– I like to use Lysol wipes and spray to kill germs on the surfaces in our home. This is especially true when you have someone in your family that is sick. I spray/wipe down doorknobs, countertops, remotes, phones, computer keyboard & mouse, refrigerator & microwave and anything else that I think may have lots of yucky germs on it. Did you know: “Lysol Spray and Lysol Wipes kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses on hard non porous surfaces.”
Take Vitamin C– I make sure my family gets there daily does of vitamin C. Whether it is through oranges, orange juice, or a supplement, I like to make sure our bodies have enough since it will help boost our immune systems.
Being sick is no fun at all. Hopefull my tips will help you to avoid the cold & flu this year. Wouldn’t that be nice?! I would love to have you share your tips with me as well.
