Happy Summer Everyone! I hope everyone has done their swimsuit shopping already and gotten prepared for the sizzling hot days to come these next few months! I will say that I have not done my own swimsuit shopping but only because I am still trying to lose the pregnancy weight I put on from my lovely 18 month old son. I never diet the first year in order to give my body a chance to recuperate so I am definitely not bathing suit ready yet! 😉 Anyways, I was asked if I would like to review This is America, Charlie Brown and of course I accepted. Who wouldn’t want to watch Peanuts with their kids?! I think we all hold a special place in our hearts for Charlie Brown! I always feel bad when Lucy picks up the football so Charlie Brown will fall on his back every time he tries to kick a field goal. I just want to go give him a hug! As some of you readers who have read my reviews previously may know, my family has one night a week designated to family movie night or DVD of some sort. We make sure that at least once a week all of us sit down together to watch something that the kids want to watch. Adding a DVD that teaches the kids something, like This is America, Charlie Brown teaches history, to the collection makes me a happy mommy!
I remember when I was very young, when it was Christmas time, I would wait for the Charlie Brown Cartoon specials to come on in the evening. That was the only time Charlie Brown was on TV back then so it was a part of what my brother and myself got excited about besides getting presents! Now I can put This is America, Charlie Brown in the DVD player anytime that my kids want to watch Charlie Brown. I hope my children will take the memories of watching This is America, Charlie Brown with them through their lives and then share the memories with their own children when they watch together. We have several DVDs of cartoons that I watched as a child and now watch them with my kids and now we have This is America, Charlie Brown to add to the collection! It just warms my heart so much when I see myself in my daughter as she giggles while watching “The MayFlower Voyagers”. It brings tears to my eyes every time I really think about it. This is America, Charlie Brown teaches children how the constitution was thought up, how the Wright brothers took the first flight, and even how we traveled to space along with a few other important events in Americas history! It is a really fun way for kids to learn about some of the most memorable times in the History of the USA. I think we will watch “The Mayflower Voyagers” every year for thanksgiving as a way for my kids to understand why we give thanks. I love how This is America, Charlie Brown gets all of kids excited about history and now want to go to the Smithsonian again. We just happen to be lucky enough to live close to the Museums in Washington D.C. so we can bring to life the actual events This is America, Charlie Brown teaches about.
