I remember watching this episode as it aired thinking, “Oh no, he gave out a punishment before thinking it through.” I have found myself in similar situations with the kids and it isn’t fun. When you just blurt out the first punishment you think of. Like: “That’s it no TV for a week” not realizing they are going to drive you crazy during that TV free week 🙂 LOL! Punishment for me! I get most my work done while Bug watches his favorite shows. And then I have to follow through. Without follow through my power is lost! I have learned that it is so much better to say “We are going to talk about this and come up with a consequence. That way I have time to actually think through the choices and pick the best one for everyone.
