I was able to review The Secret Life of Walter Mitty with one of my friends and we both really enjoyed it! The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is rated PG and is a great movie to see Christmas Day! Even though the movie is rated PG I wouldn’t recommend any child younger than 7 or 8 see it. Some of the dialogue and story line I don’t think they would understand.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is about a man named Walter Mitty (played by Ben Stiller) that works for a magazine company and he lives in a fantasy world. There are moments where he just drifts off and thinks of bigger and better things that he would be doing with his life. Walter also has fallen in like with a single mom who works with him named Cheryl (played by Kristen Wiig) who really helps to push him to follow his dreams instead of living in them. One of the funniest parts of the movie is when he goes chasing down someone he has really idolized and runs into a bunch of kids in the middle of Greenland! He trades something for a skateboard and the dialogue is seriously hilarious! Another funny scene happens when Walter first lands in Greenland looking for a certain photographer which is where his journey really begins. Walter finds himself doing things he never imagined.

What I love about The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is that we all go into our fantasy worlds once in awhile to escape reality. BUT Walter actually makes his own Dreams come true by stepping out of his comfort zone to not only help himself but everyone around him. Walter Mitty is a delightful tale filled with romamce, comedy and some surprise twists and turns that I know you will love. “I really enjoyed the movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I loved the many different and unique visuals that it had. Visually, it was stunning to watch. At the end of the film, I was surprised to see that Ben Stiller actually directed this film. He definitely used his imagination and his acting experience in the different ways he filmed many of the scenes.
I think one of the things I loved most about the film was the message behind it. This movie talks about living life to the fullest and fulfilling your dreams. It talks about not being afraid and doing something with your life. It is a major theme throughout the movie.
The acting in this movie was great especially from Ben Stiller. Sometimes, I feel that his performances are ‘too goofy’ but he really portrayed this character very seriously with just enough silliness to balance the movie out. There are some really touching moments in the film but there are definitely some laugh out loud funny moments as well.
