I attended an advanced screening of this film for my review. All opinions are my own.
“For their fifth fully-animated feature-film collaboration, Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures present The Secret Life of Pets, a comedy about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day.
Comedy superstars Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart make their animated feature-film debuts in The Secret Life of Pets, which co-stars Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Jenny Slate, Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress and Albert Brooks. Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy produce the film directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2), co-directed by Yarrow Cheney and written by Brian Lynch and Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio.” -©Universal
I have been so excited to see THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS. It has been awhile since I have watched a trailer that made me laugh so hard. I loved watching this movie.
This movie was absolutely hilarious. I loved how the filmmakers perfectly captured the personalities of all the different animals. The things the pets did in the film were definitely things I could really imagine the animals doing in real life. I could imagine my family’s pets really doing these things. THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS has many jokes for kids but also many for the adults. The whole audience was laughing a lot in the screening I attended.
I thought that the casting in this movie was fantastic. You could tell that the whole cast enjoyed themselves making this film. My favorite character was the little, fluffy white dog named Gidget, whom I thought was voiced perfectly by Jenny Slate. Gidget made me laugh a ton. My family and I also really enjoyed the character Snowball, voiced by Kevin Hart. This character is absolutely ridiculous.
Our reviewer, Briann, also attended an advanced screening of this film with her family. This is what she thought of the movie:
“We were able to attend The Secret Life of Pets screening and it was amazing! My girls were laughing the entire way through. They both loved the Snowball the bunny and thought he was one of the funniest characters. My girls also loved Max! Each pet was really funny and really held up to what I think an animal acts like. The Kitties were finicky and loved to eat and by lazy, which my girls thought was hilarious! This is the perfect movie that the entire family will really love! I love how we were able to see what our pets are up to when we leave the house.”-Briann (writer/reviewer for thebraggingmommy.com)
I loved THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS and think it is a perfect movie for the whole family!
THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS gets bragging rights!
THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS is now playing in theaters! It is rated PG “for action and some rude humor.”
