“THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.” -(c) Lionsgate
I was very excited to see The Hunger Games- Catching Fire. I loved the first film and Catching Fire is my favorite entry in the book series. This movie is definitely better than the first one, it is a fabulous movie.
I am really glad to say that I feel that this movie was a pretty good adaptation of the book. I was really worried about them leaving out many of my favorite parts of the story but the filmmakers left most of it in the movie. They are really trying to make the fans happy.
Once again, all the cast does a remarkable job. Jennifer Lawrence is once again incredible as Katniss. You can definitely feel her sadness and tension once again being thrown into the Hunger Games arena. Her performance really is the ‘glue’ that keeps the movie together. My favorite additions to the cast for this movie were Jena Malone as Johanna Mason (the competitor from District 7) and Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee (the new game maker).
Visually, like the first film, this movie looks great. I loved all the special effects and the costumes were great, especially in the Capitol. I was excited to see how they were going to go Katniss’s special dress during her interview with Caesar Flickerman. Fans will definitely not be disappointed by it. If you’re looking for entertainment that is mainly for adults, sa gaming is a great place to go to.
The Hunger Games- Catching Fire is an incredible film and it is not to be missed! I will definitely be seeing this one again.
