I attended an advanced screening of this film. All opinions are my own.
“For their eighth fully animated feature, Illumination and Universal Pictures presents, The Grinch, based on Dr. Seuss’ beloved holiday classic. The Grinch tells the story of a cynical grump who goes on a mission to steal Christmas, only to have his heart change by a young girl’s generous holiday spirit. Funny, heartwarming, and visually stunning, it’s a universal story about the spirit of Christmas and the indomitable power of optimism.”-©Universal Pictures
I love the story How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I have been excited to see the new animated take on the tale. Although it is not as good as the original cartoon, I really enjoyed The Grinch.
I loved the animation of the film. It was very bright and cheery. I loved the soundtrack for the film. The filmmakers included a lot of great Christmas music. I enjoyed the remixed version of the song, You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch.
I liked the storyline. The movie kept the original story intact but added a few things including a back story for the Grinch.
I thought that the film had a lot of really great voice talent. I really enjoyed Benedict Cumberbatch’s performance as the Grinch. I thought his performance had the perfect mix of grumpiness and humor.
The Grinch is rated PG “for brief rude humor.” The movie had a little bit of potty humor. I did like that the movie had jokes for both kids and the adults. I did laugh quite a bit watching the movie. It is a movie that I will be excited to watch during the holidays every year.
I really enjoyed The Grinch. I think that it is the perfect movie for the whole family to see this holiday season. It is a movie that I will be excited to watch during the holidays for years to come.
