I attended an advanced screening of this film. All opinions are my own.
“On the heels of 2015’s Furious 7, one of the fastest movies to reach $1 billion worldwide in box-office history and the sixth-biggest global title of all time, comes the newest chapter in one of the most popular and enduring motion-picture serials of all time: The Fate of the Furious.
Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game-and the rest of the crew has been exonerated-the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mystery woman (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime, he can’t seems to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.
From the shores of Cuba and the street of New York City, to the icy plains of the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage…and to bring home the man who made them a family.”-©Universal Pictures
My mom and I have been pretty excited to see THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS. This franchise has become a guilty pleasure for both of us. We had fun watching this movie.
THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS is not much different from the other movies in the franchise. It is full of great action sequences and some amazing car action scenes, even though sometimes it does seem unbelievable.
You can tell that once again, the whole cast had a great time doing this film. For me, the MVPs of the cast were Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. Some of the best and most entertaining sequences were done by these two. I thought that Charlize Theron was a great addition to the cast. She did well playing the villain character. My mom and I “really did not like her character.” We thought she was pretty evil.
THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS is rated PG-13 “for prolonged sequences of violence and destruction, suggestive content, and language.” This movie definitely earns its rating. My mom and I both thought that it was actually a little more violent than some of the other movies in the franchise. I would definitely say this movie is more appropriate for older teens and adults.
If you like the other Fast and Furious movies, you will enjoy THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS. I had fun watching it.
