The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films. For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles. — (C) Universal
I am a big fan of the Bourne film series and the actors Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz. I have been looking forward to this movie for months and was thrilled to see it! Although it is not as good as the previous Bourne films, it is a great addition to the series.
One thing that I really liked about the movie is how they are connecting all of the films together. The programs of Treadstone and Blackbriar are a lot more complex than we originally thought. Some things in the film are revealed but more questions still have to be answered. Another thing that was interesting to learn is that the agents are not only trained to be agents but they have been medically enhanced. This is a major storyline in the film.
I really liked Jeremy Renner in this movie. At first, I was really sad that Matt Damon was not in this film. Jeremy Renner was a great choice to ‘pass the reins’ to. I always love Rachel Weisz in her movies and once again she is fabulous in this film. Edward Norton is also a great addition as the ‘villain’ of the movie. He is definitely on a mission to get Jeremy Renner’s character Aaron Cross.
I really liked the action in the movie but it takes awhile to get there. The first half of the movie has a lot of dialogue and explaining. The last half is pretty action packed but I wish they would have had more throughout the whole film. Also, do not be prepared for an ending. The movie pretty much just stops. There will be another movie coming our way and hopefully soon!
