Along with the experience of becoming a mother to two adorable children, comes the wish to want to surround them in a warm and loving environment. And so like many mothers, I started with the wish to fill their nurseries with whimsical decor.

A lot of my inspiration comes from thinking from the point of view of a mother. When I think “If I wanted to create a fox themed nursery, what kind of art would I like to have in my child’s room?”

I wanted to create whimsical art for children so I created a shop full of my whimsical imaginings. I keep drawing every extra chance I get, perfecting my style, and expressing myself.

I truly love having the privilege of having my artwork hang in a child’s room. The interactions and conversations with the mothers of those children are so encouraging and rewarding, as we collaborate together in creating the perfect additions to their child’s world.

The opportunity has also come up for me to work with fabric design, which I am absolutely loving. Bringing my art to life on soft fabric really enables me to be more creative and flexible with what I can make.

I am living my dream.

When you are expecting a new baby, there is almost nothing as exciting as preparing the nursery!! Any nesting mother can tell you that. We are expecting a baby boy in July (woohoo!) so I was SUPER excited to work with Carrie from Sweet Melody Designs! Gorgeous, right? The thing I love most about Carrie is that she makes customizable nursery art very easy- she can do pretty much any mixture of colors you can come up with! This is so great- you can be sure that any piece of her artwork can match and blend with your nursery colors. These prints are also such high quality- great, thick paper and the quality of the artwork is truly amazing. I’ve gone and had artwork printed at my local drugstore, and I can tell you there is a huge difference between that and Sweet Melody Designs.

Sweet Melody Designs also carries beautiful swaddle blankets that showcase her amazing artwork as well! I am such a huge fan of swaddle blankets, and I have to say I’m a little bit picky. These are FABULOUS! They are incredibly soft and also the perfect size- nice and large. You can ACTUALLY swaddle with these. They also are completely multi-functional as burp clothes, blankets, nursing covers, and much more. What a great gift idea, right? Who couldn’t get a ton of use out of these blankets.
