I attended an advanced screening of this film. All opinions are my own.
“From director David Ayer (“Fury,” “End of Watch”) comes “Suicide Squad,” starring Oscar nominee Will Smith (“Ali,” “The Pursuit of Happyness”), Oscar winner Jared Leto (“Dallas Buyers Club”), Margot Robbie (“The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Focus”), Joel Kinnaman (Netflix’s “House of Cards”) and Oscar nominee Viola Davis (“The Help,” “Doubt”).
It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?”- ©Warner Bros.
I love superhero movies. I have been pretty excited to see SUICIDE SQUAD. Although, it is not the best superhero movie made, I thought SUICIDE SQUAD was fun and worth watching.
The main reason this movie works is because of the fantastic cast. They all have great chemistry together. By far, my favorite was Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. In my opinion, she steals this movie from everyone else. She delivers some of the most memorable lines and laughs of the film.
I liked how much humor was in the movie. It was a lot funnier than I thought it was going to be.
One thing I liked is that the DC universe is starting to connect all their movies together. This movie happens right after Batman v. Superman and it includes information to link it to future DC universe movies. Make sure to stay through part of the credits for an additional scene.
I thought that the storyline was just okay. I wish that the story would have been a bit tighter and more complex. I was sort of disappointed with the villain of the film. I wanted the villain to feel more menacing.
This movie is rated PG-13 “for sequences of violence and action throughout, disturbing behavior, suggestive content and language.” SUICIDE SQUAD deserves its rating. I personally would not take little ones to this movie. I think it is more appropriate for teenagers and parents.
Although it is not the best superhero movie made, I had fun watching SUICIDE SQUAD and think it is worth the ticket to see.
SUICIDE SQUAD gets bragging rights!
