How do you top (or should we say topple) your own product line after being featured on NBC’s Today as a Top Toys of the 2017 Season for its holiday-must have Brik Buster™ ($29.99)? The family-fun toy brought home eight toy industry honors in its debut season with Oppenheim Platinum, Mom’s Choice Awards Gold, The National Parenting Center (TNPC) Holiday 2017 Seal of Approval, 2017 PAL Award, Tillywig Best Family Fun Winner 2017, Dr. Toy’s 100 Best Children’s Products Award Program for 2017 – Best Gifts category, Academics Choice and 2017 Eddy Award for Best Educational Products.
The answer is Trap And Gap Baseplates™, a whimsical addition to any building adventure with a surprise element for budding engineers. Build a typical structure and add this baseplate that creates a gap or trap door for a toy car or other small household item to slide down to the next level! Like all Strictly Brik pieces, every building addition snaps on to others to create vertical and horizontal structures. There’s no right or wrong way to assemble, as a child’s imagination is the only guide.

We are HUGE Strictly Briks fans in our house- they’ve taken our brick building play to a whole new level. They are so fun that I seriously have been known to play with them for quite some time… I would have LOVED these as a kid- we loved brick building toys when I was growing up because it was the perfect way for my brother and I to play together- he loved to build and create, and I would play “house” with his creations. Imagine what kind of houses you can build when you can GO VERTICALLY? Uhh… so sad Strictly Briks is after my time… but it just means I get some extra brick building time as an adult. Well, they have introduced a new way to play, and my boys are TOTALLY on board because it combines their love of cars with their love of Strictly Briks… It’s called Trap and Gap Baseplates, and they are brick baseplates that have a trap door in them, so there is a hole and a ramp that goes downward. I mean… fairly simple, yet SO genius!!!!
They are a huge hit in our house already, and I know they will be played with for years to come. One thing I love about this company, is that it is small and personable.
