When I first saw the Spy Tec Inventio HD 720P Video Sunglasses, I thought they looked really cool. Now that we have had a chance to try them out I can say I was right. They are really cool!
When you open the package it comes with: Inventio-HD Sunglasses, a Black sturdy Carrying Case that will keep the glasses protected. A neck strap that can be attached to the glasses. A Cleaning Cloth and User Manual. A USB Extension Cable with TV Output so you can connect the glasses to your computer or monitor (like a TV).
The camera is on the front of the glasses between your eyes. I have found that you have to lower your head slightly in order to record what is right in front of you.
The manual suggest that you charge the glasses for 8 to 10 hours the first 3 times you charge (to get the best use of your battery). You plug the glasses into your computer using the USB cable to charge. There is a red light on the inside of the glasses that will come on as it is charging and turn off when it is charged. As you can see in the image below, on the side of the glasses is where the USB plug in is. That is also where the mic is and the reset button.
To turn the glasses on you press the yellow button on the side for 2 seconds. It will begin recording, then to stop recording you press the button again for 2 seconds. It’s very simple.
To connect the glasses to the computer you don’t have to download any software. It shows up as a USB storage device. I had a couple times when it wouldn’t connect but the fix was simple. I just had to take a paper clip (and while the glasses where on) press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds (and the green light will shut off). Then I could connect it to the computer. Their customer service was very helpful in giving me instructions for this, and assured me if I needed any other help they were available. And don’t worry, pressing the reset button won’t delete your videos, they assured me of this and mine were all still there afterwards.
My son has been having a blast with these glasses. He loves that they are audio and video recording glasses so he can hear himself as well. He enjoys making videos and watching them back. I enjoy watching them, he is a pretty funny kid! He is only 5 so they don’t quite fit his head, but they work fine and the neck strap helps keep them on. They are made to fit a teenager to adult as you can see them on my husband. They are a comfortable to wear as well.
Here are a couple videos of my son using the glasses:
You can see more info on the glasses as well as purchase them over at Spy Tec.
