LISTEN UP! Wyman’s of Maine just launched a sweepstakes called Spring Into Smoothies. For four weeks, Wyman’s is asking YOU to post a photo of your favorite Wyman’s smoothie and include the recipe in the caption. In addition, they will need to tag @wymansfruit and use the dedicated hashtag #SpringIntoSmoothies. The idea is to show off the vibrant varieties of smoothies using Wyman’s fresh, healthy fruit. Any variety of Wyman’s is fine with us. Each time someone uses the hashtag during the 4-week period, they will be entered to win a top of the line blender ($500 value) and a one-year supply of Wyman’s frozen fruit. All participants can enter once per week during the 4-week period. (Ends April 11th)
Wyman’s of Maine is the largest U.S. owned wild blueberry grower and processor, offering a line of wild blueberry products and complementary frozen fruit products through retailers, foodservice and industrial distributors throughout the country. Wyman’s is a family-owned business started in 1874 and now farms 11,000 acres in Maine, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, Canada. Wyman’s remains committed to sustainability through stewarding natural and human resources. Some of their efforts include enhancing and protecting their soil, water and air, improving the welfare of their employees and their rural communities, and helping the small farms that sell to Wyman’s.
They also have a dedicated focus on the protection of honeybees, the pollinators that sustain their farms. All fresh fruit is IQF (Individual Quick Frozen) processed within 24 hours of harvest, locking in fresh fruit flavor and character in a state of the art processing system. Wyman’s products can be found in the freezer section of a variety of retailers nationally.
Smoothies are an AMAZING way to get nutrients into your body (or your kids’ bodies!) that is easy, and tastes great. When you use frozen fruit? No molding fruit in your fridge, with the same vitamins and minerals in the smoothie. Win/win. Wyman’s of Maine knows that you want the freshest, most nutritious frozen fruits, and they work hard to make sure that their fruits are the best. We LOVE them in our house! Here is a great smoothie I made for me and my oldest the other day:
Fruity Avocado Smoothie for Two
-
1/2 Avocado
-
1 cup yogurt (I used Trader Joe’s Organic Banana & Vanilla yogurt)
-
1/2 cup Wyman’s of Maine Fresh Frozen Red Raspberries
-
1/2 cup Wyman’s of Maine Fresh Frozen Wild Blueberries
-
1/2 cup Cranberry juice (Or other kind of juice)
-
Handful of spinach
We both LOVED it! And I love that it’s healthy, and more importantly includes nutritious foods that my son won’t eat- nope, the boy won’t touch a fresh raspberry or avocado, and it’s a chore to get any blueberries in him. So smoothies are the PERFECT choice! One tip that I use with littler kids, is to make the smoothie like you normally would, then add in some milk to thin it out a bit, most kids tend to enjoy smoothies that are a little thinner. (Right cup in the below picture).
Be sure to enter their sweepstakes for a chance to win a a top of the line blender ($500 value) and a one-year supply of Wyman’s frozen fruit!!!
