More than half of the dietary supplements and herbal products that have been analysed by US researchers had ingredients which differed from the list on the label. Some of them had hidden ingredients which might actually harm your health. If you look at bodybuilding ingredients or weight-loss supplements in particular, then you will soon find that these contain ingredients that are not listed on the label. Chemical analyses undertaken on the product label did not reflect the actual ingredients either.

Liver Damage
More than 20% of liver damages that were reported to the US drug network were attributed to herbal and dietary ingredients. Sonya Angelone, who works for the Academy of Nutrition has stated that the liver is an organ which detoxifies everything, and this is why you are going to see liver problems in those who use these products. The team analysed 200 supplements and they reported their findings to the network. They wanted to see whether the labels reflected the contents. Only 90 out of the 203 products were honest in terms of the ingredients used and the investigators felt as though this was a very bad outcome indeed.
What about Vitamins?
If you look at kids halal vitamins, you will soon see that they do often reflect the ingredients stated. The main reason for this is because the vitamin industry is highly regulated, and everything is done to try and make sure that they are as safe as possible. When you look into the bodybuilding industry however, you will soon see that the supplements often contain tamoxifen. This counteracts some of the effects that comes with using steroids. Tamoxifen toxicity is a real thing, so it’s important to take it seriously if you want to stay safe when buying online.
Dietary Supplement Manufacturers
Dietary supplement manufacturers are required to state all of the ingredients that are on the product label. Products which contain certain ingredients, or ingredients which are not declared are illegal. Some believe that the US Food Administration service should inspect any facilities before they allow a product to go to market and that they also need to try and take enforcement against those who are breaking the rules or the law in general. Supplements which are sold for weight loss or even muscle building tend to be tainted the most. They are usually the most unlabelled drug as they are able to give you the fastest effect at the expense of your health. They have to put something in there so that they can keep on selling their product.Of course, only time will tell what is going to happen in the future but right now it looks like more needs to be done to try and regulate the industry. Who knows what ingredients are circulating right now, but with that being said, it is possible to stay safe when using supplements. You just need to go through trusted sites, and buy through trusted brands.
