Since the Team GO Rocket has invaded the land of Pokemon GO, many Pokemon have been captured and forced to be corrupted by constant torture. These Shadow Pokemon can be captured and purified or kept the way they are but its not as easy as it might sound. But before we get to the part of capturing these shadow Pokemon, we need to know what shadow Pokemon are and how are they different from the standard Pokemon, right? Well, let’s jump right to it.
What are Shadow Pokemon?
Unlike the Pokemon that we see in the Pokemon GO, shadow Pokemon are tortured and forced to carry out the criminal actions. The shadow Pokemon are always seem to be in pain and you can easily tell them apart by their appearance, there is a purple aura that surrounds them and their eyes have turned red.
You can rescue them from the Team Rocket GO as a trainer, purify them to make them more powerful or keep them in the shadow form, if that’s what you want.
How to Capture the Shadow Pokemon?
Now that you know what the shadow Pokemon are, let’s actually find out how to capture them. Now in order for you to capture the shadow Pokemon, you will have to find the Team Rocket and get into a battle. The battle takes place with 3 Pokemon from the Team Rocket that you have to fight with 3 Pokemon of your own. The Pokemon that you fight against are usually the same type.
Now, once you have actually managed to defeat the Team Rocket, you will be able to capture one of the shadow Pokemon, the usual way. And if you manage to catch the shadow Pokemon, you can choose to purify it to boost up the stats and you’ll also be rewarded for purifying the shadow Pokemon.
Now, in order for you to purify these shadow Pokemon, you’ll need some stardust and candy. But the amount that it requires to purify the Pokemon totally depends on the level rarity the shadow Pokemon has. Now there are few things that you need to keep in mind while deciding whether or not you should purify the captured Pokemon.
One of the reasons why you might now want to purify a shadow Pokemon is that it might not be worth the stardust you choose to spend on purification. The cost to purify however depends on the walking distance, so if it earns 1 candy/km then the price of purification would be around 1,000 stardust and so on.
Are Shadow Pokemon worth keeping?
They actually are worth keeping as they happen to have a great attacking power but that comes with trade off in defense, making them faint quite often in the battles and you’d end up requiring more potions to use them in the battle.
