Beca (Anna Kendrick) is that girl who’d rather listen to what’s coming out of her headphones than what’s coming out of you. Arriving at her new college, she finds herself not right for any clique but somehow is muscled into one that she never would have picked on her own: alongside mean girls, sweet girls and weird girls whose only thing in common is how good they sound when they sing together, in the new out-loud comedy Pitch Perfect. When Beca takes this acoustic singing group out of their world of traditional arrangements and perfect harmonies into all-new mash-ups, they fight to climb their way to the top of the cutthroat world of college a cappella. This could wind up either the coolest thing they’ll ever do or the most insane, and it will probably be a little of both. — (C) Universal
My sister and I were excited to see this movie. I was hoping that it would be good. We ended up loving this movie. After this movie was over, the first thing that came to my mind was that this movie was the Bring It On for a capella music groups.
This movie was absolutely hilarious. I will admit though that some of the humor in this movie was a bit raunchy though. Also, be warned, there is some vomiting in this movie (it is one of the jokes) and it is really gross. My sister and I could not believe that it was in the movie. Although we were really grossed out, we were laughing so hard!
I really liked Anna Kendrick in this movie. I absolutely love her in the Twilight films. I was amazed with how well she could actually sing. I was also surprised to see Elizabeth Banks (who was also a producer of the movie) in it as a commentator for the a capella competitions. She had some pretty great lines. The real star of this movie, in my opinion is Rebel Wilson as Fat Amy. She steals this movie away from everyone. Practically every line she delivers has you all but rolling on the floor. Plus, she is amazing when she sings. Holy cow, what an incredible voice!
The soundtrack in this movie is awesome! It amazes me the different sounds people can make with their voices. The music is another reason to see this movie. They take modern and classic favorites and make them into new, re-energized songs. After I saw this movie, I went right home and bought the soundtrack.
Pitch Perfect is a great movie for a girls’ night out and the music alone is enough to see it. I really liked it and will be seeing it again!
