I attended an advance screening of this movie. All opinions are my own.
“From the beloved novels by Michael Bond and producer David Heyman (HARRY POTTER), PADDINGTON tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear (voiced by Ben Whishaw) who travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says “Please look after this bear. Thank you.” and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.” -Official Website
I loved reading the Paddington books growing up. When I first saw the teaser trailer for Paddington, I got excited but still a little worried. I was concerned that the movie would be too childish. After watching the film, I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. It is a very charming and sweet film for the whole family to enjoy and it definitely keeps the spirit of the books intact.
My cousin and I were laughing quite a bit during this film. We are both school teachers and love child humor. There is a lot of laughs for the kids but lots of funny things for the adults. We both liked that this movie has humor for the whole family.
This movie has fun acting from the whole cast. I especially enjoyed watching Nicole Kidman as a goofy villain. She definitely was having some fun. I really liked Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington. I think he definitely helped with bringing ‘a spark’ to the character.
This movie also has a great message about love and family. This movie would be perfect for the whole family to watch together. I would be very happy to watch Paddington again.
