As I have said before, I am a big Tom Cruise fan. I was really excited to see Oblivion. After viewing the film, both my friend and I really enjoyed this movie.
Visually, Oblivion is fantastic. I actually got to screen Oblivion in IMAX. I would definitely recommend watching it in this format. This movie takes place in originally what would have been New York City if Earth hadn’t been evacuated. I loved the filmmakers interpretation of a destroyed Earth. All of the special effects in this movie were great from the flying scenes, to the backgrounds, and the battle scenes. Visually, you will not be disappointed with the movie.
I really thought the cast was really great in this movie. I think that it was really up to Tom Cruise to make this movie work and he does. This is really his movie. I really enjoyed Morgan Freeman’s performance as well but he is not in the movie a lot.
This is a movie I would definitely put into the sci-fi category. It had some moments that I would say were definitely different. There are some really great plot twists and some of them actually really surprised me. This movie will make you think.
I really liked Oblivion and would definitely watch it again.
