I’m a mama to three sweet and beautiful boys – they are such a joy. But, I am currently pregnant with baby #4, and it’s a GIRL! I am so excited to finish out our family with a daughter and a sister. Even though she isn’t even here yet, so much feels different. I have begun dreaming about what she’ll be like and who she will become.

When I first read My Wish for You by Kathryn Hahn, I had tears in my eyes. It is such a beautiful children’s book, a work of art that not only inspires but encourages. In a world that doesn’t always embrace the differences between us, this is a book that reassures our daughters that being who they are is the very best way to be! The beautiful illustrations by Brigette Barrager are so wonderfully representative of so many kinds of girls, which I love. The words are fun, but meaningful and are written in a way that will reach young girls, but still give a powerful message. My favorite message is how it encourages girls to have a voice, to ask for what they need, and not be afraid of their big feelings. These are some of my biggest wishes for my sweet daughter-to-be – that she connects to herself and her emotions and learns to just be herself, unapologetically. That message wasn’t as prominent when I was a little girl, and there have definitely been times where I have gotten lost in my own insecurities and self-doubt. If I can create a foundation of self-love for my little sweetness, then there’s nothing else I could ask for!
