The new OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network is launching on January 1, 2011! OWN programming will include original series and specials, all focused on entertaining, informing and inspiring people to live their best lives. This got me thinking about my hopes and dreams for the future.
So I have been thinking a lot about what the future holds for me as a wife and mom. I have so many things I want to accomplish and do in my life. One of the most important things to me is being a mom. When I got pregnant with Bug it was truly a miracle. After two and a half years of trying and many many cycles on fertility drugs and many visits to infertility doctors I was finally pregnant! Becoming a mom was and is the best thing that has ever happened for me. Bug fills my life with so much joy. He has helped me to become a better person, he has taught me what unconditional love is, and he has blessed my life more than I could ever put into words. I love each and every minute I get to spend being his mommy.
That said, I really want my family to grow. I would love to have more children in my life and for Bug to have a brother or sister to grow up with. Obviously that isn’t something that comes easily for me with all of my infertility issues. We have been struggling to have another baby after Bug for about 2 and a half years. We have been visiting infertility doctors, etc…No such luck. But I am remaining positive because I know that somehow I will be a mom to another child. Whether it be through a pregnancy or an adoption.
My husband and I have always wanted to adopt, regardless of my fertility. It is something we discussed before ever trying for our son. I have a brother and sister who are adopted and my husband’s father is adopted. We have both seen how much adoption can bless the lives of all those involved. So we are hoping that sometime in the near future we can be connected with a precious birth mother who is wiling to let us raise her child. I look forward to the day I have another child who will call me mommy. I can’t wait to continue to grow my family and give my children all the love I have to offer them! Being a mom is the most important and fulfilling thing I will ever do in my life.
