We are planning a family trip to California soon and we will be flying. I didn’t want to bring my son’s car booster seat with us, but I wasn’t about to pay the rental car company an arm and a leg to rent one. So I began searching for an alternative. That is when I found BubbleBum the inflatable car booster seat.
I was cautious at first, could an inflatable car seat be a safe car booster seat? The answer is yes. BubbleBum meets all the US safety standards for a child car booster seat. Once my mind was at ease, I decided this was exactly what I needed for our upcoming trip.
It arrived in the package (pictured on the left). Inside was the booster seat inside the draw string carrying bag (shown on the right).
Inside the draw string bag was the inflatable booster seat and the instruction manual.
Inflating the booster seat was really simple. You unscrew the cap and blow it up until it is full, then screw the cap tight again. I really like that the cap doesn’t come off, it makes it easier to inflate it fuller and you won’t ever lose the cap.
Once it is inflated you place it on the seat of the car and thread the seat belt straps through the red clips.
It also comes with an extra strap you can use to keep the seat belt in the right place up by your child’s shoulder.
My son likes sitting on it and says it’s more comfortable than his other car booster seat.
We will be using it for our upcoming trip, but in the mean time we have found a lot of other use for it. My son’s pre-school takes a monthly field trip and the parents take turns driving them. Now instead of lugging around his big booster seat I just throw this one in his bag and he is ready to ride in someone else’s car safely. We also use it for: daddy’s car, grandma’s car, auntie’s car etc…and when I have my daughter in her infant car seat, my son in his booster seat, a friend or cousin can fit in the middle seat (standard boosters are to big for this).
