I attended an advanced screening of this movie for my review. All opinions are my own.
Marvel’s Avengers Age of Ultron is now playing in theaters!
We love super hero movies in our family. Especially my son, he is super hero obsessed. So we have been looking forward to Marvel’s Avengers Age of Ultron for a while now. My son and I were able to go see it a little early. We were thrilled that we would be seeing it in an IMAX theater.
“When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and it is up to the Avengers to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plans.”
We both thought it was absolutely fantastic! Here is why;
Action Packed- The movie actually starts with an action sequence, and it is awesome! Then throughout the movie there is lots of action. The effects are great. All the action made it a super cool movie to my son.
Different- I really loved the storyline to this movie. It isn’t like your usual evil villain vs. super heroes story. It has a different twist which I didn’t expect. I liked that element and enjoyed seeing it all play out.
Funny- I found myself laughing throughout the movie. It is very clever and funny which I think is the perfect balance to all the action, making it an enjoyable movie for everyone.
Great Cast- As with the last Avengers movie, the cast does not disappoint. This is a talented bunch and when they are all together in a movie it is awesome! There are even several who join the cast and make it even better than before.
New Depth- In this movie we get a better look at Hawkeye and I really like seeing who his character is. We also get a glimpse into Black Widows past and how she came to be an assassin.
Entertaining- As far as entertainment goes, this movie gets an A+. It has a 2 hour and 22 minute running time and I wouldn’t have known it. I didn’t get bored or restless. Quite the opposite actually. I was intrigued, entertained and at times on the edge of my seat.
In my opinion this is a must see and one of my new favorite movies from the Marvel series that have come out so far. We saw it in 3D in IMAX and it was great. If you can see it in IMAX I definitely recommend it.
Thinking of Taking the Kids?
Avengers Age of Ultron is Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi action, violence and destruction, and for some suggestive comments.
It is action packed and there is violence, like all super hero movies. Most of the violence in this movie is geared towards robots being destroyed ripped apart, but there is also violence to humans. There are a couple suggestive references (which were hilarious to me) and they went right over my son’s head. There are a couple of curse words as well (all are mild).
Bottom line; if your kid has seen the other Marvel movies you should be fine to let them see this one. When in doubt, it never hurts to see the movie yourself first and then decide if your child should see it.
