I attended an advanced screening of Ant-Man for my review. All opinions are my own.
My husband, my son and I saw Ant-Man earlier this week and we all thought it was great.
“The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man” when master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats.”
Ant-Man is funny, witty, and so much fun to watch! It is a must see summer movie!
I was very impressed with the cast of Ant-Man. I think having this great cast made the movie. They did an excellent job. Paul Rudd makes a great Scott Lang (Ant-Man) and his character is really funny. Michael Douglas is an excellent actor and is fantastic as Dr. Hank Pym. Evangeline Lilly is beautiful and perfect as Dr. Pym’s daughter Hope Van Dyne. Corey Stoll does a great job at making you hate his character Daren Cross (Yellow Jacket). Michael Pena, David Dastmalchian, and T.I. play the 3 criminal side-kicks Luis, Kurt, and Dave, and had me laughing a lot. Especially Michael Pena, he is very funny.
I was entertained the whole time, I was invested in the story, and I laughed a lot. I am very impressed by this newest Marvel movie and highly recommend seeing it.
We saw it in IMAX 3D and it was great, if you can see it in IMAX I recommend you do. Make sure you stay through the credits. There is a surprise mid-credits and then another at the very end (and it is worth staying for!).
Can the kids go? Ant-Man is rated PG-13 for Sci-Fi Action Violence. It doesn’t have a lot of violence, but it does have quite a few minor curse words (shit, ass, etc…). There also jokes for the adults but most kids won’t understand them. In my opinion, If your kids have seen the other Marvel movies then they will be fine to see this one. I probably woudn’t take anyone under the age of 6 just because I think they might get bored. Make sure you take into consideration your own child and when in doubt see it first and then decide if you want them to see it.
