I attended an advanced screening of this film. All opinions are my own.
“In Marvel Studios’ THOR: RAGNAROK, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first, he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk! THOR: RAGNAROK is directed by Taika Waititi and returns Chris Hemsworth starring as Thor and Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki. They are joined by Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban, with Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.“-Marvel Studios
I love the Marvel Studios films and I have been so excited to see THOR: RAGNAROK. I was not disappointed. This movie was awesome!!
By far, this was the best Thor movie they have done so far. It was a very fast paced film with a storyline that you are completely engrossed in. It had a great mix of action and humor. I was surprised how funny this movie was. I laughed a ton.
Once again, the cast in this movie was great. Chris Hemsworth is fantastic as Thor. I love that we finally get to see a more comedic side of the character in this film. I also really enjoyed Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk. I thought it was great that we got to see a lot more of the Hulk character this time around. I loved the addition of Cate Blanchett as the villain Hela. She was scary and was a great opponent for Thor.
The visuals in this movie were top notch. I had the opportunity to see this film in IMAX 3D. There were definitely some cool effects in the 3D format. As usual for me though, I did get a bit dizzy after a while.
THOR: RAGNAROK is rating PG-13 “for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and brief suggestive material.” I thought that the amount of violence in this movie was pretty similar to the other Marvel movies. There is a lot of fighting but no blood. The suggestive material is very brief and most kids will miss it and not understand what is being discussed. If your kids have seen the other Marvel movies, they will probably be okay seeing this one.
I love THOR: RAGNAROK. I think it is definitely among the best of the Marvel movies. It is a must see.
THOR: RAGNAROK gets bragging rights!
