Growing up, the music of ABBA was played in my home. I loved the first Mamma Mia film because of this. I have been so excited to see MAMMA MIA: HERE WE GO AGAIN. My mom and I loved it.

I actually think I liked this movie more than the first one. I felt like MAMMA MIA: HERE WE GO AGAIN had more of a storyline than the first. In this film, we get to find out how young Donna, played by Lily James, meets Sophie’s 3 dads and comes to reside on Kalokairi.

I loved the music in this film. The movie includes some of the same songs from the first film but they have also included other ABBA music, even some songs that are not as well known. Once again, the musical numbers are showstoppers.

I loved seeing all the original cast members back for this film. It was also fun to see new cast members join the story, especially Cher as Sophie’s grandmother. For me, the best new addition to the cast was Lily James as young Donna. She was phenomenal. She performed all of her songs well and had so much spunk and happiness with her character.

This movie is rated PG-13 “for some suggestive material.” This movie did have some sexual references but my mom and I both thought that this movie had less suggestive material than the first film. I think that adults will like this movie more than kids. If your kids have seen the first film, they will be probably be okay seeing this one.

I loved MAMMA MIA: HERE WE GO AGAIN and I will definitely watch it again. Make sure to stay through the credits for a cute scene at the end.
