Winter is fast approaching here in Utah. In fact I am pretty impressed it hasn’t hit already. I love the fall weather here the only problem is do I use sunscreen or don’t I? My girls were sent some shirts from Little Leaves Clothing to review.
Since it is getting a bit chilly outside but the sun is still shining my girls really need to be protected either with long sleeves or Sunscreen. Little Leaves Clothing makes Long Sleeve UV Protected shirts and pants for girls and boys! My girls both loved the shirts they received. Leah and Charlotte both exclaimed how soft and warm the material was.
What I love is that the girls can be protected from those harsh UV rays. I guess growing up in Arizona I never thought about the sun during winter because we just always wore sunscreen. But when winter is in full force my kids still need to be protected, even though it’s cold outside the sun may still harm them.
“UPF 50 bamboo/cotton graphic t-shirt. Our UPF (ultraviolet protection factor) 50 fabric blocks over 98% of ultraviolet radiation that causes sun burns, skin damage and skin…” (Little Leaves website)
“Even for children and toddlers, chronic sun exposure and sunburns are directly linked to developing skin cancer. In our practice, we see these potential health hazards regularly. My husband is a dermatologist and I am a pediatrician. The similar concerns we share with the patients we treat support a common goal – the long-term health benefits of children.
Becoming parents inspired us to realize this goal. We searched for casual and affordable clothing designed to block harmful radiation, but we learned sun-protective clothing for children was mostly offered for swimwear – our kids get a lot more sunshine beyond the swimming pool!
In October of 2013 we founded the Little Leaves Clothing Company to provide sun-safe playwear for children. The materials we create are also ideal for children with eczema, atopic dermatitis, and other sensitive skin conditions. Additionally, we subscribe to the health-conscious attitude, and ensure the playwear is chemical free and colored by natural/non-irritating dyes” (Little Leaves Clothing)
