Disneyland has always been a super place to visit, but this summer is even sweeter! Summer of Heroes is in full swing at Disney California Adventure Park! While there are some permanent attractions that debuted with the Summer of Heroes event, there are a few that will be leaving in September. I’ve divided the events into permanent and temporary so you know which attractions are here to stay and which ones will be leaving.
Permanent Fun:
The Summer of Heroes debuted this summer with the grand opening of Guardians of the Galaxy- Mission: BREAKOUT! This reimagined ride has been a hit ever since opening and is a must see when you visit. You will help Rocket Raccoon save the other Guardians from the Collector’s lair- all while jamming out to some pretty awesome tunes. This ride is a permanent addition to the park so you can enjoy it year-round.
While in the park, you can meet your favorite heroes like Spiderman and Captain America. These two super heroes are permanent at the park, so no matter when you visit, you will be able to see these tough guys in action. Don’t forget to snap a picture and get their autograph- for free!
Temporary Experiences:
Speaking of meeting characters, your little ones can be a part of the Avengers Training Initiative to train to be the best Avengers they can be. Black Widow and Hawkeye will train the recruits to see if they have what it takes to be super! They will be given a series of Super Hero tasks to complete in order to join the ranks. There is also a meet and greet experience with Black Widow where you can get your picture taken with her. These are both limited time experiences and will leave with the rest of Summer of Heroes on September 10th.
If you’ve got the groove in you, join your favorite Avengers (besides maybe Gamora) in the Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! This is a once in a lifetime experience to dance with your favorite heroes in the Happiest Place on Earth. Practice your dance moves and prepare for the most epic dance off of your life!
If you want to get some pretty epic souvenirs and some superhuman food, now is the time, during the Summer of Heroes! You can find a selection of themed doughnuts, smoothies, Groot Bread and more. If you want something that lasts a little longer, you can pick up some super-themed souvenirs to make the experience last after you get home! Check out the Marvel-themed shields, backpacks, shirts and more. These can be found in the little shop over by Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!
Last but not least, you can visit the Hero Center where you can take the “What Hero Are You?” quiz and get your face painted for FREE! That’s right, this free activity is only here until September 10th and is something you will not want to miss. Not only can you get your face painted, but you will also receive a free comic book after you take the quiz! This is located near the Monsters, Inc. ride in California Adventure as well.
