I don’t know about you but I love to sleep. So becoming a mom was a tough transition for me with all the sleep deprivation that comes with a baby. Luckily that doesn’t last and eventually your baby learns to sleep through the night. My son used to sleep really well at night and sleep in late in the mornings as a toddler, it was so nice.
Then came this new phase of life where he thinks he will miss something and wants to get up at 6 am. Well that is not going to fly with me! I am not a morning person, especially not at 6 am! It was always a battle to get him to understand that it wasn’t okay to get up so early and that he needed to sleep in longer. Not just for me, but to ensure he gets enough sleep at night since he doesn’t nap anymore during the day.
I was thrilled when Live Love Dream sent me the Kid’Sleep Moon Sleep Trainer to review. I knew I needed this product and couldn’t wait to see if it worked for my son.
“Now everyone will get more sleep!”
“The Kid’Sleep Classic has many benefits, as a night light, wake-up indicator for young children and an alarm clock for older children. It helps young children have an understanding of when it is time to get out of bed and when it is not.
It is a great tool for nighttime self regulation, and the result is that both parents and children get more sleep. When the sleeping bunny (or bear or mouse) is illuminated, the child knows that it is still bed time (or nap time), and when the awake bunny is illuminated, the child knows that it is time to get up.”
The Kid’Sleep Moon Sleep Trainer, Nightlight and Alarm Clock comes with a power cord so it can be plugged in, or if you wish you can use batteries. I found it really easy to set the clock and program the wake times. The instructions are good and gave me all the info I needed to program it within about 5-10 minutes.
The trainer can be used with or without the alarm clock. We are currently using it without the alarm but I love that once my son starts Kindergarten in the fall we can use the alarm to make sure he is up in time to get ready for school. I like that the sound is a bird chirping and then a rooster. Such a nice sound to wake a child.
I am so happy to say that it works wonderfully for my son! I set it for 8 am and he hasn’t been getting up until the awake bunny lights up. He said sometimes he wakes up but sees the bunny is still sleeping so he goes back to sleep! The results are awesome and I couldn’t be happier!
While the trainer changes to awake at the times you set (Morning, nap & weekends) but it doesn’t allow you to set a sleep time. The way you make it sleep time is by pressing the GS button (and holding for 2-3 sec). This begins a “go to sleep” process where you can decide the duration (2 min, 10 min, etc…). Once the time is up it plays a little music cue letting your little one know it’s bedtime and switches to the sleeping rabbit light. This is great to press at the start of a bedtime routine.
Here you can see how it looks in the dark with the sleep and wake lights. Another nice feature, you can adjust the brightness and you can choose to have the small square LED screen light on or off.
It can also be used as a nightlight for babies using the nightlight face plate that it also comes with. When your not using it it can conveniently be stored in the back. It
