My girls love playing on the internet, so when I introduced them to K5
Learning, they were really excited to get started with the online reading and math program. We started with free reading and math assessments for each girl. An animated character guided them through the 100% online assessment. They were asked a series of questions in different skill areas and then placed at the appropriate level within each sub-skill based on his or her answers. The assessment was broken up by a short game which was good for my kids because it helped them not get bored. I love knowing that K5 is catering to my girls strengths & weaknesses when it comes to each subject. It’s a very personalized program!
After the assessment, my girls started the reading and math lessons on their own (well….my 4 year old watched while the 6 year old played 
). My daughter was able to navigate the website on her own pretty quickly. That is great because I don’t always have time to sit next to her while she wants to do a lesson or two. Spoken instructions let my kids know exactly what they need to do next. 
K5 Learning is focused more on helping kids improve their math & reading skills and not so much on game playing like other websites my daughters use. Their emphasis is definitely on learning rather than entertainment, but that isn’t to say my girls weren’t entertained. They thought K5 was a lot of fun and I don’t think they realized they were learning . K5 Learning is a great supplement to the lessons that kids are taught in school. I was very impressed with K5 Learning and feel like it is an excellent way to continue a child’s learning even when they are not in school!
