I attended an advanced screening for my review. All opinions are my own.
“In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.”–©Columbia Pictures
I loved the latest Jumanji movie and I have been so excited to see the latest in the franchise, Jumanji: The Next Level. Although I didn’t think it was as funny as the previous film, I had so much fun watching it.
Once again, the cast was hilarious. It was so funny to see Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart impersonating Danny DeVito and Danny Glover. I thought that they captured the personalities of old men very well. I also thought Awkwafina was a great addition to the cast as well.
I felt like the movie was not as surprising as the last film. Some of the scenes were too similar to the first film and were easy to predict. There were a couple of surprises in the plot but it was very similar to the first movie.
This movie is PG-13 “for adventure action, suggestive content, and some language.” I thought that this movie had more inappropriate content than the first film. There are more scary scenes and sexual content. I personally don’t think that this movie is appropriate for younger kids. I would say probably ages 10 and up.
Make sure to stay through the first part of the credits, there is a fun scene that could potentially set up a third movie for the series.
I had lots of fun watching Jumanji: The Next Level. I would definitely watch it again.
Jumanji: The Next Level gets bragging rights!
