I’ve been on the lookout for an umbrella stroller that will work for my baby girl as well as my 5 year old son. Joovy came to mind right away because I have owned several of their strollers and they have all been awesome! And I have to brag about their customer service as well. I have needed replacement wheels and their customer service was so great and got them to me so fast! I love knowing they will be there to help me should the need arise. It’s worth mentioning that you can find stroller guides and reviews on the market at All Mom Needs.
The Joovy Groove Umbrella Stroller is perfect for both of my children because it can hold up to 55 lbs. So no matter which child I need it for it works.
It arrived in a long box and was almost all together already. All I had to do was snap the front wheels and the canopy on. It took me less than 5 minutes.
Right away I was impressed. I got the Orangie color and it is so bright and fun!
My kids immediately took a liking to it. I love that it has reflective light technology so you will be seen even in the dark. You can see this from the flash in my images.
As you can see, both my kids fit well in the stroller. I love that you can use it from a 3 month old baby to a big boy 5 year old! (and he still has head room to spare).
I love that it is lightweight (weighs only 17lbs.) so it is easy for me to pick it up and put it in my trunk. It even has a carrying handle which makes it even easier to carry it while it’s folded!
It folds really compactly which makes it really nice for taking on trips. We are planning a trip to Disneyland soon and we are flying. This stroller will be so easy to fold up and check in for the flight and it won’t take up a lot of space in the rental car either. Another bonus is the bright orange color, we will know where our stroller is at Disneyland (you know the sea of strollers in the stroller parking areas)…Folded dimensions: 16.5” H x 13.5” W x 42” D
It is simple to fold. You just pull up on the handle, then press your foot on the latch on the right side.
Once it is folded there is a lock on the side that will keep it folded. To unfold you just pull the lock back, open the stroller and press on the foot pad (shown at the bottom of the image above).
I like that the canopy is so big. It can be opened partially or fully. It provides great sun coverage!
The canopy also has a viewing window. It can be shut with Velcro or rolled open and secure with a loop.
There are 2 bottle/drink holders on the back as well as a zippered pocket for storing your keys, cell phone, etc…
The basket underneath is a pretty good size for an umbrella stroller. I can’t fit my big diaper bag in there, but I can fit a small bag, or a couple small shopping bags. Still it is bigger than your average umbrella stroller basket, which is nice.
The brakes are easy to put on and take off using your foot. There is a brake on each back wheel.
There are mesh net cup holders on both sides of your child so you can put their drink, bottle, toys or snacks by them.
The 5 point harness is easy for me to buckle and unbuckle (but not easy for baby). And you can adjust the height and length of the straps to fit your baby.
The seat reclines back to 149 degrees. It is a strap recline. To recline you press on the tab and pull. You can put it to any level you want. Then to sit the seat upright you just pull the strap. It is really simple to do and I love that it reclines (a lot of umbrella strollers do not). A recline is a must have for me since my babies sleep a lot!
The footrest adjusts up which makes it much more comfortable for a smaller baby. As you can see it supports her legs fully. Then you can lower it for an older baby or child.
I love this lightweight umbrella stroller because it has great features, is easy to steer and is a great quality and value! The front wheels swivel making it easy to steer (and they lock if needed). I highly recommend this stroller!
The Groove is available in Blueberry, Greenie, Orangie and Black.
