As a working mother, what kind of job are you looking for? We asked this question to hundreds of mothers who want to succeed at work and yet be a great parent. Some of the most common points they shared were:
- a job that allows me a better work-life balance and more time with kids,
- a work-from-home job you where I do not need to look for a babysitter,
- a job that offers me the flexibility of choosing when to work and how long to work, and
- a job that helps me remain updated in my field without slogging off for hours.
If you are a working mom and looking for a mom-friendly career too, we have some great tips for you:
Look for a work-from-home job with a flexible schedule ~ Katie
Katie Brandlynn, a mother of three kids and a UK assignment help expert, says, “One of my kids is disabled. I have to be home to take care of him. So, I wanted a job where I could work part-time, preferably during school hours. I have done PhD in Economics and offering assignment help to other students pursuing the subject works great for me.”
The job of a Market Research Analyst is flexible too. Johanna Deldi says, “I have five children and work from home as a market research contractor. Companies and marketing firms send me their market data and I help them analyze it and figure out what’s import for them. It’s a detail-oriented job and I prefer doing it during night hours when my kids are sleeping. My job does not interfere with my kids’ schedule and that’s a big plus for me.”
Medical or alternative therapy careers that allow you to work part-time are quite rewarding ~ Amelia Hurstz
Amelia is a dental hygienist. She shares, “My job pays me well and allows me to make it to my kids’ school events, soccer games, plays, and doctors’ appointments. I work part-time and can set my own appointments.”
Amelia’s friend Meenal is a Yoga trainer. She says, “Women have an innate quality to heal and nurture. I love to do Yoga sessions with my clients. I like to fix most of my appointments in the hours when my children are in school. It allows me to spend quality time with my kids and still follow my passion.”
Health and fitness is a growing industry. Hence, acupuncture, energy healing, pilates or fitness instruction and massage therapy are some of the other careers which are rewarding for working moms.

“Depending on your qualification and aptitude, you may choose to offer essay help to students in the subject you specialize in. When you offer essay writing help to students, you commit to helping them overcome their academic challenges. Or you may do a counselling course and guide people to overcome other kinds of work, relationship, or life-related challenges. Life coaching is a good idea for those who think they can offer a life-changing course to a target group of people,” says Charlotte.
Charlotte is the mother of a toddler and a 7-month baby. She says, “I was a counsellor. But with small kids, I find it difficult to find a quiet place to concentrate on my client. So, I chose to offer assignment help temporarily. But now I like it so much that I intend to continue doing this along with my counselling work when my children start going to school.”
Become a freelancer ~ Julia Mayhem
Julia does not believe in working with one company. She says, “If you have a skill that can help many others, you can be your own boss. Whether it is painting, knitting, cooking, or web development, you can always tap your creativity to create customized products for your clients. Being a freelancer allows you to set your own work schedule, fees, and deadlines. Nowadays, online teaching is also becoming popular. So, if you have good command over a language or a subject, you can become an online tutor.”
“You may involve your kids in some of the activities too and train them to be independent from an early age. My 13-year old daughter helps me with blogging while my five-year-old son loves to help me dab paint on earthen pots, cups, and other wares I sell online.”
