Shoppers wonder why Invicta watches always seem to be on sale. This approach to pricing is prevalent among Invicta watches, although it is not exclusive to the brand. To create the appearance that you are getting a better bargain on a watch, brands utilise clearance pricing and significant reductions. In fact, on the Invicta website, there is a whole clearance section.
Watches from the Invicta brand are often on sale for less than their manufacturers suggested selling price. Is it true that they are successful, given this pricing strategy? Well… Invicta elicits powerful emotions among watch collectors, not all of which are good.
Let’s take a look at this watchmaker in more detail.
Are Invicta timepieces truly swiss?
Despite the fact that Invicta is proud of its Swiss ancestry, not all of its watches are Swiss on the inside. In reality, although most of their watchmaking is still done in Switzerland, many of their watches are made in Asia. Similarly, several of their watches, like the stainless steel Aviator, use Japanese quartz instead of Swiss timekeeping. On the brand’s website, you may find Invicta watches with Swiss movements.
The fundamental essence of Swiss watchmaking necessitates a high degree of meticulousness. A customer shopping for a Swiss watch understands that the attention and workmanship put into the watch’s internal construction is more significant than the watch’s timekeeping accuracy or style.
Invicta’s mission statement probably aims towards this level of workmanship. To that aim, they offer a line that is designated as Swiss Made. This collection includes many, but not all, of the Pro Diver timepieces.
And therein is the rub: although an Invicta Pro Diver watch can be had for a lot less, one from their Swiss Made line, such as the Pro Diver Collection Coin-Edge Swiss Automatic Watch, will cost you more.
Is Invicta a good watchmaker?
The million-dollar issue now is if Invicta fulfils both aspects of its mission statement.
In terms of price, they manufacture some of the most inexpensive watches on the market in designs that, at first sight, don’t seem to be very expensive.
The issue of quality is a little more complicated. While Invicta advertises itself as a Swiss watchmaker who follows Swiss heritage, not every watch in their collection uses Swiss timekeeping.
This does not always imply a decrease in quality. Quartz timekeeping is, in fact, more precise than Swiss mechanical timekeeping.
In terms of pricing, buying Swiss-made timepieces for less than $500 is also a fantastic bargain.
However, although Invicta does offer a line of Swiss-Made watches, the overwhelming majority of their timepieces are not, and many of them contain Swiss quartz movements. More information about Swiss-Made certification may be found here.
Should I Invest in an Invicta timepiece?
Whether you’re looking at Bulova watches or comparing Seiko to Citizen, my response to this issue is the same for virtually every watch brand we evaluate.
In fact, Seiko and Invicta are an excellent comparison. It’s a fantastic place to start since Invicta utilises Seiko movements in several of their watches.
It all depends on what you’re looking for. Invicta isn’t a status symbol, so if you’re looking for a watch that says anything about you, they’re probably not for you. On the other hand, in terms of looks, their watches are very similar to Rolex or Omega so from an appearance point of view you get a good looking watch for a fraction of the price.

Another thing that Invicta can boast about is its long history in the watchmaking industry.
Unlike trendy watch companies like Michael Kors, Guess, or Daniel Wellington, who are fashion designers who also sell watches, Invicta was founded in Switzerland and is a well-known watch brand with a history dating back 180 years (although watch collectors are quick to point out that the brand re-established in 1991)
Also, if you truly enjoy the appearance of Invicta watches, keep in mind that you’re likely to find bigger large case diameters and sometimes thicker thick cases, up to 52mm in size depending on the model you choose. Of course they also offer standard 40-48mm size watches and have a variety of models to suit every need, similarly to other manufacturers.
Invictas are large in comparison to dress watches, which are thin and intended to slip gracefully under a suit sleeve. To get that hefty, macho appearance, they use a lot of gold and silver tones, large bezels, and crowns. In many cases Invicta watches resemble those of higher end brands. Of again, if that’s the look you’re aiming for, Invicta may be the right choice.
