How to Train Your Dragon 2 Movie Review ~ Opens in Theaters Today

My daughter Leah has been anticipating How to Train Your Dragon 2, which is now out in theaters today. She was so excited when I told her we were going to a sneak preview of the movie for a review. I had never seen the movie so we watched it for Family movie night and Leah was even more excited to see the movie!

It is now 5 years later since Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel) and his dragon Toothless changed their little town of Berk for the better. The dynamic duo are now flying around with ease trying to find other dragons and other parts of the country that they have never seen. But they run into a bit of trouble when they come across Erit (voiced by Kit Harrington) who is trying to capture the dragons and bring them to his leader. Hiccup of course does not want to give into him and neither does his girlfriend Astrid (voiced by America Ferrera). Together along with their friends they try and save the dragons and their city. BUT when a mystical Dragon Rider and a new found land come into play, it’s not always easy!

Leah and I absolutely loved How to Train Your Dragon 2. I loved when Hiccup was reunited with someone he loved from his past and I also loved that good really triumphed over evil. The special effects in this movie were incredible from the beautiful countryside to the flying dragons and the new found dragons! Leah’s favorite part was the baby dragons and the flying dragons.
