This post is brought to you by Rashays.
It seems impossible I know, but you can find a place to eat without having an argument going around in circles for 15 minutes. With so many food options these days, it’s often tough for everyone to agree on a place to eat. However, if you just remember to keep a few of these key pointers in mind when having your family meeting it could make this process a little easier!
Menu Variety
A widespread menu allows my family and I to choose what we’d like to eat individually, and share should we have extra food. Smaller menus mean that we would be eating similar dishes, and not everyone’s palette can be satisfied. I would definitely choose eating out at a place that provides a wider menu where everyone can get a variety of options.
A personal favorite of mine that has a large menu, is Rashays. Rashays Casual Dining is a family owned and operated restaurant where you feel at home as soon as you enter. With locations in Sydney, Canberra, the Central Coast and most recently Maitland, there is bound to be a Rashays near you!
The menu is huge, with a bunch of options that suit kids, vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free, with even halaal options at Rashays.
Location
Convenience, accessibility, and location are important to ensure that you can invite friends and other families to join! Ever so often when someone is keen on having lunch, I would invite them at the spur of the moment.
However, some potential objections could arise as people’s afternoon plans might not be in sync with where we planned to eat. Which means it’s always a good idea to find a restaurant with an accessible location.
Finding a great venue in an even better location is what dreams are made of! When considering the restaurant of choice for your family meal, it is important to outline some key things you and your guests will need. Ask yourself these few questions to get you started:
- Will it need to be in close proximity to public transport?
- Will guests need to park their cars?
- How far are guests willing to travel? Here you have to consider traffic!
Once you have figured out the answers to the above questions, you should be able to cut down your list of possible family-friendly restaurants and work out which one will be most suitable for you.
Ambiance
In order for everyone to enjoy their meal, it’s important for the restaurant to cater for the loud laughter of the children, however, balance this with a peaceful atmosphere for adults to retreat to. There are a bunch of family friendly restaurants that cater for both audiences so you just have to find what one works for you.
For a weekend afternoon meal with the family, menu, location and ambience must be balanced to make it an awesome experience for everyone. Menu spread so that everyone can satisfy their cravings, location because I’d like to invite people in the moment, and ambience so it suits the casual conversation to unwind of the week.
Happy food hunting!
