I am always looking for fun, enjoyable educational products for my students. I also really love activities that they can do independently. I was so excited to receive the Hot Dots Jr. Kindergarten Reading Set from Educational Insights to try out.

The Hot Dots Jr. Reading Set comes with 2 different activity books and an ‘Ace’-the talking teaching dog. The activity books helps children with practicing very important skills. Some of the different activities in the book work on important reading skills like letter and sound recognition, beginning and ending sounds, long and short sounds, sight words, and more. I loved the variety of skills that they cover in the book and how the skills increase in difficulty.

Educational Insights also sent me the Hot Dots Jr. Mathematics Set and it is just as fantastic as the reading set. It works on many important math skills like number recognition, addition, subtraction, shapes, patterns, and more.

One of my favorite parts about the sets is the ‘Ace’ pen. He is really cute. He makes different sounds when the students get the answer correct or incorrect. His eyes also light up green if the answer is right or red if it wrong.

My students LOVED these reading and mathematics sets. They were all very excited to try them out. When I asked my students what their favorite part about the sets were, they told me that they loved the ‘Ace’ pen. They said the pen was really funny and they loved the sounds it made. They also told me that they liked that they could do the activities by themselves. One of my students told me that the books made him feel smart because he could do it all by himself.
