I love that my daughters are ‘GIRLY-GIRLS’. I have been training them to be that way since they were young and that included painting their tiny toes when they were babies. Now that they are a bit older, they are always wanting their nails painted and I am happy to do it for them. We got to review some nail polish from Hopscotch kids and my girls were over the moon with excitement!!

Oh playmate (dark purple) which happen to be my girls’ favorite colors. They immediately put me to work painting their nails. The first thing I noticed about this non-toxic kid safe nail polish was that it lacked the typical ‘nail polish smell’. Obviously because it doesn’t have all those harsh chemicals to make it smelly! The colors were nice & bold, and I only had to do one coat to make my daughters nails look nice. That surprised me because I figured being water-based, it would look ‘watery’ as well. Not the case though. I love that the bottle has a wide base. If I ever decide to let my 6 year old paint her own nails (which I am not quite sure I will), I feel more confident that this bottle is not going to tip over.
While I have slowly been converting to using more natural, eco-friendly products, it didn’t cross my mind to look for a non-toxic nail polish. My 4 year old has her hands in her mouth all the time (she is my thumb sucker) and the fact that she was sucking on chemical-filled nail polish doesn’t make me feel great. Now that I am more aware, I will be more careful. I am glad there is a better alternative for my children! Thank you Hopscotch Kids!
