Remember your high school where you meet the best memories with your best friends? While you’re still connected to these friends through social media, you don’t get to meet them often.
That’s the sad reality of the world today in 2021. But you can change that.
You don’t have to be the person with the most flair to throw amazing parties. You need to have the zeal to throw a party that will bring the people closer to each other–the people who used to hang out for years earlier.
So if you have decided that you want to throw a high school reunion, we warn you it’s not going to be an easy task and there is a huge project in front of you. After all, first, you may have to search and find people that you have lost touch with long ago! If you are still willing to go forward then we are going to provide you with some guidelines to plan a reunion that even the cool kids will agree to.
So let’s go.
Make A Committee
The first thing you should do is form a committee. If you believe you can do it yourself, you are greatly mistaken because the responsibilities must be clearly defined.
Additionally, you must also select someone who was a homecoming king or queen because you want someone to persuade people to attend, and the more diverse your group is, the more people will listen.
If all popular kids are auditioning for positions on your committee, the less popular kids will be hesitant to join the party. So combine the two.
Reaching out to someone for a reunion is much easier now that we have Facebook and Instagram. So, reach out to the people you want on the committee at least ten months before the actual date, so they have enough time.
Divide The Committee’s Responsibilities
Each committee member should have a detailed list of responsibilities and deadlines for achieving the goals.
Just because it’s a reunion party doesn’t mean you can slack off on the project. Consider it similar to your office work except more fun!
The committee’s head planner should assign each committee member specific responsibilities. You can have a person who checks the finances, a person who teams up and decides whether you want 80s flair or 90s cover bands to perform at the party, and so on.
You can also have a group that plans activities or entertainment. These individuals can decide on the entertainment aspect, like hosting a best-dressed competition or a homecoming king and queen all over again.
You should also assign a person who has the responsibility of reaching out to your classmates.
Finalize A Date And Book The Venue
To finalize the date for a reunion is very tough- more than you can think!
This is because most people have jobs and their families, and having everyone on board on a single day can prove tough.
So for this, you need to try something like a poll on Facebook and Instagram and see where you get the highest number of people polling for.
Decide and move on to the venue. It’s best to book the venue well in advance to avoid any last-minute surprises.
Imagine squaring down on a date finally and not having a venue! That would be a disaster.
Send The Owls Away
We mean the invitations! Well, so finally, after everything is sorted, send away the invitations, and now all you have to do is wait for the D day.
Summing
Before you realize it, you will sip mimosas and discuss and reminisce high school’s good old days with your friends. Have fun!
