“Early in the second season of The Middle, Brick discovers what a little white lie is from his parents, realizing they only did it to protect him from the reality.”
I really don’t like to lie to my family, not even little white lies. But sometimes I find myself telling Bug a little lie here or there just to avoid chaos. For example when he wants to go to a certain fast food joint and play on the playground and I don’t feel like it, I will tell him it’s closed. Or when we are eating at a restaurant I tell him if he is loud the workers will kick him out. Is that bad? I probably shouldn’t but it is so much easier than dealing with a temper tantrum and I get pretty good results from it. I like to pick my battles carefully, and avoid melt downs if possible :) He is starting to get wiser and is now questioning me like “If it’s closed, then why are people in there?”. So I fear they won’t work for much longer…
