Gynoii Smart Baby Monitor Review and Giveaway

I received a Gynoii Smart Baby Monitor for my review. All opinions are my own.

I have been trying out the Gynoii Smart Baby Monitor for a couple weeks now and I am loving it! It is a video baby monitor that uses wifi to send the image and sound to your iOS or Android device. But it has so many great features that have really impressed me.

First off, it is extremely easy to setup. From the time I opened the box until the monitor was ready for use was about 5 minutes. It was very simple. You start by installing the free app which is available in iTunes and the Google Play Stores. Then you plug in the camera.

Using the app you create an account, connect the camera to your home wifi, and set the camer up (by scanning the QR code box on the back of the camera). Then viola! You are ready to use the monitor.

It comes with the hardware needed if you choose to mount the camera on the wall. It also comes with a handy little camera holder which can be attached to an object of your choosing. This is perfect for putting on a play pen or crib when your baby is small and you want an up close view of her.

I set up the camera in my living room to try it out. My kids were enjoying a movie so it was the perfect time to test it out. Here is a screenshot of what the app looks like as I use my phone as the monitor. I was impressed right away by how well it works.

Like I said before, there are so many great features. Let me share some of my favorites.

Social Sharing: You can take videos and images and share them easily with friends and family on social media and email right from the app.

Time-Lapse Video: While your camera is on you can choose the option to make a time lapse video. This is so fun and such a great way to journal your baby as he grows. In addition to the time lapse video, you can also take regular video and snapshot pictures. Take a look at an example of the time lapse video made with the Gynoii monitor.

Custom Lullaby: This monitor has two way voice capabilities so you can talk to your baby whenever you want or need to. You can also create a custom lullaby and easily play it for your baby by pressing the music button in the app.

Alerts: You can make it so even if the app isn’t open on your phone, you will get alerts if there is movement. Or if their is sound. They are separate settings so you can use one or the other, or both. You can also set it in sound only mode where the sound will continue for you even if the app is closed and you are doing other things on your phone/tablet.

For video quality you can choose between high quality, medium, or low. This is great since you can choose high when you want to share video or pics with family, and you can choose medium or low for regular use. Keep in mind that the video quality is also dependent upon your home’s internet service.

Below on the left it is set to low video quality and on the right it is set to high quality. As you can see the high quality is really good and the colors come through vibrantly.

Then it was time to move it into my daughters room where it will be so I can keep an eye on her at night and hear her if she needs me.

I am really loving this monitor and all of it’s great features, it does so much more than other monitors I have used. I highly recommend this monitor!
