WHAT: Here’s your chance to show off your singing skills and your love of Into The Woods with a unique musical contest that gives you the chance to “Sing Your Way Into The Woods. Gather together your choir, your musical theater group or just your friends and record your very version of the last two minutes of the iconic Prologue of Into The Woods. The winning video will be chosen by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine. All videos will be judged based on musicality, creativity and execution and the winning video as well as the three runners-up will be featured on Disney’s tumblr site.
WHO: Choir groups, Choral Companies, Musical Theater Departments, Glee Clubs and anyone who with a love for Sondheim’s Into The Woods can submit a video and enter to win a private, advanced screening of Disney’s Into the Woods. All you need to do is decide which part you want to sing! You get to decide who plays the Baker, the Baker’s Wife, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and maybe your wish to win a screening will come true.
HOW: Go to www.intothewoodscontest.com, watch the trailer for Disney’s Into the Woods for inspiration, then download the official music and lyrics to the Prologue and take a video of yourself performing. Upload the video following all the rules on the site and you and your group could be chosen by Mr. Sondheim and Mr. Lapine to win your very own advanced, private screening of the film. Make sure to upload your video before 12 pm PST on December 12, 2014.
WHERE/WHEN: Beginning Friday, December 5, 2014 at 2 PM PST, go to www.intothewoodscontest.com for full rules and details on the contest. You can submit your video for the one week period from Friday, December 5, 2014 – Friday, December 12, 2014. Three finalists and one winner will be chosen and announced on the site on Friday, December 19, 2012.
