“Dolphin Tale is inspired by the amazing true story of a brave dolphin and the compassionate strangers who banded together to save her life. Swimming free, a young dolphin is caught in a crab trap, severely damaging her tail. She is rescued and transported to the Clearwater Marine Hospital, where she is named Winter. But her fight for survival has just begun. Without a tail, Winter’s prognosis is dire. It will take the expertise of a dedicated marine biologist, the ingenuity of a brilliant prosthetics doctor, and the unwavering devotion of a young boy to bring about a groundbreaking miracle-a miracle that might not only save Winter but could also help scores of people around the world.”
I work at a movie theater and I saw the trailer for Dolphin Tale quite a bit this summer. I was really excited to see it. I noticed Morgan Freeman and Harry Connick Jr. were in it. I absolutely love them. But what I really liked is that it was based on a true story. The best part of it all was the fact that the actual dolphin, Winter, plays herself in the film.
I had a lot of fun watching this movie. I thought that it was a sweet movie that kids and their parents will enjoy together. I was in a showing with a lot of kids. After the film, many of them were saying that they loved this movie. I did think that the movie had a few corny moments but it was not too over the top.
I loved that this movie focused on the two main children actors and their interactions with Winter. This movie was not about the adults. This movie was about the amazing dolphin and how she has and continues to inspire many people today.
I was pretty impressed with the 3D effects in this movie. When the dolphins are swimming under the water, you really do feel like you are underwater too. Warner Bros. definitely took their time and did a great job with the 3D effects.
Dolphin Tale is a great family movie! Kids and parents will enjoy it.
